Since ancient times, Yoshino Mountain has been regarded as a sacred place for the ancient Japanese mountain faith, which aims to attain enlightenment through severe ascetic practices in the mountains. "The ascetic path connecting Yoshino-Omine and Kumano-Sanzan is called "Omine-Okugakemichi" and is still practiced today.
In July 2004, the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range" including Yoshino Mountain was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As a result, it is no longer possible to mine the soil of Mt. Yoshino, and the tea bowl is a precious item.
