This piece is traditionally attributed to Raku Keinyū (Raku Kichizaemon XI), who was active from the late Edo to early Meiji period. The entire surface is coated in a warm vermilion glaze characteristic of Aka-Raku ware, and it is enriched by a fine network of crackles (kan’nyū) that developed after firing. These crackles are limited to the glaze layer and enhance the aesthetic depth and character of the piece. A water retention test lasting approximately 30 minutes showed no leakage, indicating the bowl remains in good condition. The foot bears a clear impressed seal reading “Keinyū.” The slightly irregular form reflects the traditional emphasis in tea ceramics on tactile intimacy and invites a personal dialogue between the vessel and the user.
