This Raku ware tea bowl is attributed to the 12th generation Raku Konyu (1857–1932), a distinguished potter active during the Meiji and Taisho periods. The bowl is hand-formed with a softly rounded profile and covered in a warm vermilion glaze, showing a fine network of crackles on the surface. A sumi-e style landscape, depicting a snow-capped mountain and a gnarled plum tree, is painted on the exterior. The dynamic brushwork gives depth beneath the glaze while maintaining a tranquil composition. The foot is unglazed and skillfully carved, bearing the impressed seal "Raku." The interior is fully glazed and displays a lustrous surface with natural aging. This piece exemplifies the aesthetic and technical characteristics of Raku ware from the late 19th to early 20th century and reflects the enduring spirit of Japanese tea culture.
