This is a black Raku tea bowl attributed to Raku Konyu, the 12th-generation head of the Raku family. Hand-built in the traditional tezukune technique, the bowl features an organically rounded form with an irregular rim that embodies the natural aesthetic unique to Raku ware. The entire surface is coated in a rich black glaze, with flashes of red and yellow emerging on the exterior due to the firing process, adding visual depth and character. The interior is evenly glazed with a lustrous black finish. An impressed seal reading "Raku" is visible on the base, adhering to the formal stylistic tradition of the Raku lineage. The bowl’s balanced design merges function and beauty, reflecting the contemplative spirit of the tea ceremony.
