This is a celadon bowl from the renowned Yaozhou kilns of the Song Dynasty in China, distinguished by its refined carved decoration and subdued glaze tone. Yaozhou ware, which flourished in Shaanxi Province from the Northern Song to the Jin dynasty, is celebrated for its intricately carved celadon wares. This piece features a richly detailed floral motif carved across the entire interior, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibility characteristic of the kiln. The flowing curves of the design guide the viewer's eye naturally toward the center of the bowl, creating a serene visual rhythm ideal for tea gatherings or artistic appreciation. The exterior is adorned with evenly carved vertical fluting, enhancing the elegant form of the vessel. The celadon glaze is a soft olive tone, with fine crackle patterns (crazing) that have developed over time, adding depth and warmth to its overall appearance. The foot is carefully finished, and the unglazed base reveals a clean, well-fired clay body that supports its authenticity as a period piece. There are no visible chips or cracks, and the bowl is in excellent condition. As a fine example of Song Dynasty Yaozhou ware, this bowl holds not only artistic value but also serves as a refined representation of the sophistication found in East Asian ceramics.
