This studio pottery dish is attributed to the renowned British potter Bernard Leach. At the center, an owl is rendered in iron pigment, perched on a stylized branch in a manner that evokes both charm and rustic elegance. The rim is decorated with a geometric pattern, reflecting Leach’s distinctive synthesis of Eastern and Western aesthetic sensibilities. On the base, two impressed seals are visible—one within a square frame possibly bearing the letter "BL", consistent with marks associated with the Leach Pottery. The surface is covered in a clear glaze, harmonizing the natural speckled clay with a soft sheen. The reverse remains unglazed, showcasing the wheel-thrown texture.
