This piece is a Black Raku tea bowl believed to have been created during the Edo period in Japan and attributed to Raku Ryonyu (1756–1834), the 9th generation head of the Raku family. The bowl is coated entirely in a deep black glaze, with ash-gray and brown patches on the body formed by natural kiln effects, evoking a landscape-like appearance. The foot features a spiral trimming pattern and an inscribed mark, both characteristic of Ryonyu's work. The hand-molded form showcases the softness and warmth unique to Raku ware. The interior displays a lustrous glaze, combining both aesthetic appeal and practical function for use in the Japanese tea ceremony.
