Miyagawa Kosai (V) (1922-2016)
From Asakusa, Tokyo. Great-grandfather Miyagawa Chozo Kosai was a disciple of Aoki Mokubei. Started a kiln in Makuzugahara and received the name of Makuzu from Yasui Monzeki and the name of Kozan from Kacho no Miya.
This generation joined the Miyagawa family in 1945 after demobilization. Studied under his adoptive father Kosai. Assumed the name of the 5th generation in 1972. Works focus on gold and silver glazing and overglaze enamels.
