Terms of Service

Scope of Application
These Terms of Service define the conditions for use of services provided by this website (chano-yu.com). Users are deemed to have agreed to these terms upon use. The website may revise these terms without prior notice. Revised terms shall take effect when published on the site, and continued use constitutes agreement to the updated terms.

Payment Methods
We accept credit cards and PayPal. Exchange rate fluctuations and transaction fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Appraisal
We are a very small team with limited resources and are unable to conduct scientific age verification or appraisals by the artist’s descendants. We evaluate items using specialized reference books, scholarly resources, and knowledge inherited from senior experts in the field. If a purchased item does not meet your expectations, please feel free to contact us. We sincerely value your opinion.

Shipping and Customs Duties
We ship internationally, but cannot ship to countries or regions subject to embargoes or import restrictions. Shipping is free via EMS to the USA, Europe, Asia (excluding some regions), Australia, and New Zealand. For other regions, please contact us in advance. Shipping carriers include Japan Post (EMS) and DHL. Orders are typically dispatched within 3 business days, and shipping usually takes around one week. If the buyer selects a preferred carrier, additional fees may apply. EMS includes insurance up to the declared value on the label. For DHL, we recommend purchasing additional insurance. Note that insurance does not apply to DHL drop services. Import duties, taxes, and fees are the buyer's responsibility. We do not cover these costs.

Returns and Cancellations
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery if the product remains in its original condition. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. If the item is clearly different from the description, we will cover the cost of return shipping. If cancellation is requested before shipping, a 20% restocking fee may be charged. Customs duties and taxes incurred cannot be refunded.

Products and Pricing
All product prices are listed in Japanese yen and include tax. Prices do not include VAT for overseas purchases. Prices may fluctuate due to exchange rates.

Disclaimer
We are not liable for failure to fulfill obligations due to force majeure such as natural disasters, war, or pandemics. We are also not responsible for delays, customs issues, exchange rate fluctuations, or dissatisfaction related to the use of the product.

Intellectual Property Rights
All product images and descriptions are the property of our company or rightful owners. Unauthorized reproduction, copying, or commercial use is prohibited.

Prohibited Conduct
The following are prohibited: violating laws or public order, and bulk purchasing using bots or other automated tools.

To customers buying tableware
Most of the items we handle are used. They are sold in the same condition as when we acquired them, so please be sure to wash and disinfect them thoroughly before actual use. For antique items, we recommend using them for decorative purposes only.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Japanese law. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any disputes.
