This black Raku tea bowl, created over 100 years ago, is an exceptionally captivating antique. As a piece of historical and artisanal value, it is highly regarded among tea utensil enthusiasts and collectors. Its overall design features a robust and substantial form, beautifully showcasing the soft texture and luster unique to black Raku ware. The surface exhibits natural aging that has developed over time, further enhancing the bowl's profound character.

The exterior of the bowl is adorned with a distinctive texture of fine undulations, offering a pleasing tactile feel that enhances the satisfaction of use. The deep, rich color of the black glaze conveys a sense of depth, while the delicate cracks and subtle variations in tone reflect the charm inherent in handcrafted works. The interior is lustrous, providing a perfect backdrop to accentuate the beautiful green hue of tea. The rim bears evidence of old lacquer repairs, a testament to its long history, which rather adds to its value as an antique.

The foot is meticulously crafted, and the base features the mark of the kiln, offering a glimpse into its origins and historical context. The tea bowl comes housed in an old paulownia wood box, which is in excellent condition, further emphasizing its well-preserved state.

This black Raku tea bowl is not only a piece of aesthetic value but also a highly practical item. It is ideal for use in tea ceremonies and equally suitable for appreciation as a display piece. For those who cherish the culture of tea or have a passion for historic craftsmanship, this is an exquisitely appealing item beyond compare.
