These teacups are painted by Toyozo Arakawa on the base produced at the Suigetsu Kiln. The Suigetsugama kiln was established in Kokeizan-cho, Tajimi City in 1946 by Arakawa Toyozo, a national important intangible cultural property (living national treasure) in 1955 for his Shino and Setoguro techniques. Its name is derived from Suigetsu-jo, another name for Kannon-do, a national treasure at Eihoji Temple on Torakesan.
