This vase, dating to the Qing dynasty (18th–19th century), is a fine example of Guan-type celadon ware. It features a flared trumpet-shaped mouth and paired arched handles on either side of the waisted body, evoking archaic bronze forms from antiquity. The surface is coated with a lustrous, pale green glaze, characterized by a network of pronounced crackles (known as “ge” or craquelure), which was highly admired for its antiquated aesthetic. The glaze pools slightly around the base and mouth, a hallmark of high-fired celadon. The unglazed foot rim reveals a dark reddish-brown tone, suggesting careful kiln placement. The form is well-balanced and elegant, with subtle sophistication that speaks to refined Qing taste and revivalist appreciation of classical Song ceramics. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This piece exemplifies both technical skill and timeless aesthetic appeal, making it a valuable collectible and a testament to the enduring influence of ancient ceramic traditions in Qing dynasty artistry.
