This piece is a brush washer from the late Qing dynasty, produced during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (1875–1908). The exterior is evenly coated in a lustrous lavender-blue glaze with a subtle purplish hue, creating an elegant and subdued sheen. The interior is finished with a pale bluish-white glaze, offering a delicate contrast in tone. Its form is low and rounded, with a slightly flared rim, combining both functionality and aesthetic appeal as a scholar’s desk accessory. The foot rim is unglazed, revealing the fine white porcelain body and offering a glimpse into its firing technique. On the base, a six-character underglaze blue mark reads "Made during the Guangxu reign of the Great Qing," indicating that it was either made during the Guangxu period or as a later homage to that era. The interior of the base shows natural staining and usage marks accumulated over time, adding a sense of age and authenticity. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition, free from cracks or chips, and serves as a superb example of Qing dynasty scholar’s ware—both visually refined and highly collectible.
