This incense case is made from "Garan-ishi," a type of stone traditionally used in the foundations of temple pillars. It was crafted by Toshuan Soshun, and the accompanying inscription is by Shohosai 5th Senshun, a Zen monk. This item is intended to enhance the experience of enjoying aromatic incense during tea ceremonies.
