After studying as an assistant at the metalworking department of the Toyama Prefectural Industrial Research Institute when it was first established, moved to Tokyo to study under Yoshisuke Seki and learn the art of metal engraving.
Later returned to Toyama and set up his own business. Later returned to Toyama and set up his own business.

Exhibited at the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce Craft Exhibition (and several times thereafter).
1968
Designated as a holder of traditional craft industrial skills by Takaoka City.
1972
Commended as an outstanding craftsman (Contemporary Master Craftsman).

Order of the Sacred Treasure, 6th class.
