“大雅斎 Dayazhai” Porcelains painted with the mark are those which were ordered by Xitaihou 西太后 (empress Dowager 1835-1908) herself, with dayazhai being the name of her living room in the palace. Xitaihou invested large sums in porcelain ware; it is said that these amounted to 128 gram of silver in the Guangxu period alone.
