Shojyo

A mythical creature of China. Resembling an ape, with the face and legs of a man, the shojo understands human language and loves to drink sake. On the Noh stage, a Chinese man named Kofu known for his filial piety follows the prophecy of a dream and becomes wealthy selling sake. One moonlit night a shojo appears at the Shinnyo estuary. The shojo drinks with Kofu and dances, then celebrates Kofu's filial devotion by giving him an endless well of sake.
