The eldest son of Tahara Tobei XII. After receiving a graduate degree from Musashino Art University in 1975, he went on to study under Nakazato Shigetoshi in Karatsu for two years to deepen his knowledge of ceramics. He then entered the Japan Kogei Art Crafts Exhibition in 1979 and 1980, both times winning honorable mention, and own this award in 1991 as well.
He won honorable mention at the Yamaguchi Exhibition in 1982 and 1987, and from 1990 began submitting his work to the Japan Traditional Kogei Art Crafts Exhibition, Japan Kogei Art Crafts Exhibition Yamaguchi chapter, and West Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, being accepted and winning awards numerous times. After his father’s death in 1992 he took on the name Tahara Toobei XIII, and in 1999 won the Yamaguchi Artist for Tomorrow prize.

Returns are accepted within thirty (30) days of delivery if the product remains in its original condition. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. However, if the item is clearly different from the product photos, we will cover the cost of return shipping. Any claims regarding authenticity or condition must be submitted within 30 days of delivery. Claims made after this period shall not be accepted. Returns or refund requests will not be accepted once the item has been transferred, resold, or otherwise passed on to a third party.
