Born in Inbe, Bizen, Okayama, third son of Kanashige Toyo. Graduated from the Graduate Faculty of Sculpting at Tokyo University of the Arts. Served as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Art at Tokai University and Ceramic Instructor at Sao Paulo, Brazil. Started a studio in Bizen in 1983. Held a Koshinkai Exhibition by the Toyo clan at the Takashimaya in Okayama. Held private exhibitions at the Takashimaya in Nihombashi. Creates sharp Bizen ware using the tatara.
