This Bizen ware drinking cup embodies the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, a love of imperfect beauty. The natural, unglazed finish weaves a story of rich colours created when the clay mingles with the flame. It is a piece that captures the irregular beauty of nature and deepens in taste the more it is used. Bizen ware also mellows the taste and enhances the aroma of alcoholic drinks due to its clay nature.
