    1946 Kawai Toshitaka was born in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, as the fourth son of Kume Koji.
    1958 He graduated from the University of Tokyo.
    1969 He married Kawai Akie and became the adopted son of Kawai Hirotsugu (adopted son of Kawai Kanjiro) and Kawai Suyako (Kanjiro’s daughter, pen name Koha).
    1980 He opened his own kiln in Shigaraki and named his pottery studio “Koha-sha”.
    He is currently the director of the Kawai Kanjiro Memorial Museum.
