This natsume features a design of chiamimakie on a black lacquer base, depicting fishing nets being dried. The motif of drying nets has long been favored in traditional crafts, symbolizing the scenery of a bountiful catch. Additionally, the plovers flying through the sky are considered auspicious, as the name chidori (plover) is phonetically similar to chitori (to take a thousand blessings), thus representing the wish to capture many fortunes.
The fishing nets themselves symbolize a plentiful catch and are regarded as a good omen, embodying the idea of "scooping up happiness." The inside of the natsume is finished with a smooth silver lacquer, adding a calm and refined ambiance to the piece.
